2019 Tuvalu 1 oz Silver Periodic Table Proof NGC PF-70 (First Releases)
Collectors with interests in science and history have the opportunity to share in the sesquicentennial anniversary of the original periodic table with this colorized coin. The coin comes from a limited mintage of just 3,000 pieces. It was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .9999 fine silver at the Perth Mint and bears that mint's "P" mint mark on the reverse.
- Contains 1 oz of .9999 Fine Silver.
- The obverse bears Ian Rank-Broadley's right-side portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing a tiara, which has graced Australian coinage for decades. The design is encircled by rim inscriptions, including her name, "QUEEN ELIZABETH II." Other inscriptions offer the weight and purity of the coin, "1 OZ 9999 AG," its date, "2019," its issuing country, "TUVALU," and its face value, "1 DOLLAR."
- Natasha Muhl's reverse design makes use of the abbreviations of elements in the periodic table to spell out the inscription "ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS." A portrait of the man who created the original table, Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, is at the top, while a box bears the inscription "PERIODIC TABLE."
